Abstract

598,755. Handwheels. HAMILL, W. W. Sept. 8, 1945, No. 23179. [Class 80(iv)] In a vehicle steering wheel of the kind described in Specification 458,999 having an inner hub part 5 for securing to the steering column and an outer part 1 carrying the wheel, the two parts having inter-engaging limbs with rubber or like bodies arranged between them, the adjacent faces of the limbs are formed as a recess 3a, 3b, Fig. 9, and a projection 4a, 4b, Fig. 7, respectively, with pockets 3c and 6 for receiving the rubber bodies. To facilitate assembly, either of the inner or outer parts is divided along a transverse plane centrally of the limbs.
