566,187. Vehicle wheel tyres. STRAUSSLER, N. May 25, 1943, No. 8326. [Class 144 (i)] A resilient tyre for track vehicle wheels comprises an annular body a of resilient material such as vulcanized rubber bonded to a metal tread portion j and to inturned margins b, c of it, and carried by a divided rim having inturned flanges o, p engaging projections or beads on the body. The tread may be formed with one or more annular ribs extending into recesses in the body a and bonded to it by vulcanization. As shown, the faces of the body contacting the rim may be covered with one or more layers of canvas l, and the base portion may be formed with an annular recess i and of such a width from bead to bead that it is under stress when held between the rim flanges. The tread may be formed of two similar portions welded together in the central plane.
