Abstract
597,997. Injection-moulding machines. THURGAR, BOLLE, Ltd. (Cretin, A.). Aug. 27, 1945, No. 22032. [Class 87 (ii)] Between the cylinder chamber 10 and the nozzle 15 is disposed a block 12 through which extend passages 16 each of which has a crosssection which increases progressively throughout the whole length of the passage in the direction of movement of the material therethrough. Each passage is of substantially smaller cross-section than the chamber 10. The length of each passage is greater than the effective stroke of the piston 11. The passages are heated by steam in a chamber 21 formed by welding a sleeve 20 on to the block. Recesses 22 in the block communicate with chamber 21. Steam is supplied to chamber 21 from a boiler which may be electrically heated, the heat being automatically cut off when the pressure reaches a predetermined limit.
