Abstract

888,743. Injection moulding machines. INSTITUT FUR WERKZEUGMASCHINEN. April, 21, 1959, No. 13622/59. Class 87(2). An injection cylinder 1 has peripheral chambers 2 of wedge-shaped cross-section opening tangentially into bores 5 leading to the injection nozzle 4. The material is forced from the chambers 2 through slits 3 into the bores 5 with a spiral motion. In Fig. 1 the injection plunger has an extension 6 which tapers towards the nozzle and is grooved in such manner as to be stellate in cross-section. Fig. 2 shows a modification in which a conical insert 10 extends towards the injection piston 9.
