Abstract

911,184. Injection moulding. ECKERT & ZIEGLER G.m.b.H. June 9, 1961 [Nov. 5, 1960], No. 20972/61. Class 87(2). In an injection moulding machine having a plasticising screw 1 which is movable axially for filling the mould, a compression cylinder 4 is connected to the space 2 ahead of the shaft 1 by material feed conduits 3 and is provided with a compression piston 9 which is arranged to close the conduits 3 when it enters the cylinder 4. In operation, this piston 9 is withdrawn by means of a hydraulic piston 10 and injection is effected by advancing the screw 1. The piston 9 is then moved into the cylinder 4 and maintains the cylinder and the mould under the necessary pressure.
