Abstract

596,813. Copying by milling. CINEMATELEVISION, Ltd., and LANCE, T. M. C. June 8, 1945, No. 14544. [Class 83 (iii)] [Also in Group XX] The Specification describes a method of cutting a series of prismatic grooves, in the form of a continuous spiral to act as a Fresnel type lens, on the face of a sheet of transparent material such as known under the Registered Trade Mark " Perspex." The sheet 9 is rotated by a shaft 10 by which also, through bevel gearing 13, the rotating milling cutter 11 is advanced in a guide 14. The cutter shaft is also supported by a block 16 carried in an inclined guide 15 to control the angle of the groove as the radius increases. Specification 606,010, [Group XX], is referred to.
