[Class 132 (iii)] A toy building comprises a base panel grooved or provided with ribs on its upper side and a set of wall units, the lower edges of which are adapted to engage the grooves or to fit between the ribs, some of the said wall units being provided also with grooves near and parallel to their vertical edges for receiving the edges of adjacent wall units, and a roof adapted to rest upon the upper edges of the walls, the whole structure being readily assembled or taken apart so that the parts lie compactly on one another. The units may be made of plywood. The base 10 is reinforced along the edges with strips 11, and a strip 15 divides it into two man portions, the area 12 being left in front of the house to represent a garden. Two rectangles 13 and 14 also made of strips are fixed to the base, the grooves 16 between the strips being engaged by the walls. Side walls 18 with gable ends and reinforced by strips 17 are placed in position and fixed to the back wall 20, the vertical edges of which are provided with flanges 9 to engage the end walls. Pivoted hooks 26 are then turned to engage the slots 28. The back wall 20 consists of a frame with two doors 22 giving access to the interior of the building. A partition wall 19 shaped like the end walls fits in the centre groove in the base and is held by the floor supporting strips 36 in the back wall. The upper panel 23 of the front wall bears grooves 24 into which the edges of the side walls fit, and is supported in position by blocks 41 on the side walls and by the hooks 26 which engage in the slots 27. The roof, of two panels 31 and 32 hinged at 33 is placed in position and the hooks 6 turned to engage the eyes 35. The lower part 29 of the front wall has flanges 30 which fit round the end walls and has a rabbet finish to its top edge to make a light-tight joint with the upper part 23. This section 29 is interchangeable with sections of other design, for example, a shop front. Floors and ceilings may be placed on the supports 36 and 39, and a battery may be installed in the attic and be connected to bulbs in the several rooms.
