596,337. Electricity supply. STEVENS, A. H. (Electronic Laboratories, Inc.). June 14, 1945, No. 15076. [Class 38 (iv)] Condenser arrangements.-To modify the voltage delivered from a source of power such as a battery 6, Fig. 1, to a load, reeds 1, 2 are vibrated by an electromagnet 4 between pairs of stationary contacts, whereby when the reeds engage contacts 9 and 11 or 10 and 12, condensers 13 and 14 in series with the output leads, are alternately connected across the battery and when the reeds are in a mean position, the condensers discharge in series across the said output leads. When either condenser is being charged, the other condenser is discharging in series with the battery 6. In another arrangement, Fig. 2, (not shown), two pairs of vibrating reeds co-operate with corresponding stationary contacts controlling the alternate charging of two pairs of condensers arranged in association with three output leads and a common output lead to provide respectively double, treble and quadruple the voltage of the battery.
