Abstract
Pellets of regenerated cellulose are formed by letting droplets of viscose syrup fall into an aqueous bath containing 2 per cent of glacial acetic acid, 15 per cent of ammonium sulphate and 15 per cent of anhydrous sodium sulphate, the partially coagulated droplets then being transferred to a further coagulating bath comprising a 10 to 20 per cent solution of sodium sulphate in water at 80 DEG to 90 DEG C. The further treatment requires about an hour, after which the coagulated droplets are washed and oven dried.
