594,502. Flexible seals for shafts. SCHWITZER-CUMMINS CO. July 18, 1945, No. 18397. Convention date, July 28, 1944. [Class 122 (v)] A fluid seal comprises an annular flexible sealing disc 20 having an inner flanged portion, a rigid sealing ring 17 secured in sealing engagement therewith, said sealing disc having an outwardly extending diaphragm portion formed about the flanged portion, and a spring disc 22 within which said sealing disc is supported and centred, said spring disc extending into engage ment with the flanged portion of the flexibledisc in opposition to said sealing ring for exerting spring pressure thereagainst.
