Abstract

592,684. Reciprocating pumps. GAME, C. May 24, 1945, No. 13004. [Class 102 (i)] [Also in Group XXIX] A hand pump or spray comprises a pump barrel a carrying an adapter d at its lower end, having a ball valve e seating on its upper face and an inlet tube f secured to its lower end. On the upper end of the barrel a is screwed a socket g carrying a cap h for connection to the neck of a bottle or like container. Passing through the socket g is a tube c carrying a piston b on its lower end, the upper end thereof carrying a hollow body i having a tapered or like shaped valve seat j at one inner end and a nozzle k at the other end. Within the body i is a cylindrical atomizer m capable of rotating and reciprocating longitudinally and having one end o shaped to seat in the valve seat j during the suction stroke to prevent air being drawn into the pump barrel.
