Abstract

A contact or brush consists of carbonaceous material and metal, e.g., copper finely powdered with a sulphide of another metal of lower melting point, e.g., silver, cadmium, molybdenum, zinc or lead. The sulphide may be formed from sulphur and metal during the manufacture of the brush.
