Abstract
592,276. Magnetic interrupters. PLESSEY CO., Ltd. April 5, 1945, No. 8406. Convention date, May 2, 1944. [Class 38(v)] In a self-interrupting electro - magnetic vibrator, the coil 12 is contained in a ferromagnetic member 10 and surrounds the reed 24 so as to reduce the height of the vibrator. When the coil is energized the reed 24 is attracted to the left connecting the left hand contacts 33, 34, and short-circuiting the coil 12. The reed moves to the right and is kept in motion by the continual energization and deenergization of coil 12. The contact strips 21, 25 and the reed are carried in a sponge rubber member 40 so as to absorb vibration. The can 36 has a sponge rubber lining 37 and is dust and moisture proof.
