Abstract

592,196. Dough-rolling machines. MELVIN & GILLESPIE, Ltd., and STEVEN, E. J. Jan. 29, 1945, No. 2207. [Class 87 (ii)] A dough-moulding machine, of the kind in which dough is rolled between a conveyer band 4 and a pressure board 7, is provided with rows of idle rollers, each consisting of a number of relatively movable sections 11, 11<1>, 11<2>, at each side of the moulding channel, to prevent lateral spread of the dough piece without tearing its ends. In a modification, not shown, the sidewalls of the moulding channel consist of a number of superposed endless bands driven at different speeds. The bands or rollers may be adjustable to vary the width of the channel, and the rollers may be curved, e.g., as on the right of Fig. 4. The pressure board 7 is adjusted by screws 9. The top of the channel may be formed by another endless band running over the board 7, in which case the screws 9 are arranged on one side.
