Abstract

1,194,212. Feeding sheets. PARNALL & SONS Ltd. 22 July, 1968 [18 Aug., 1967], No. 38175/67. Heading B8R. Documents 5 are separated from a stack by perforated endless belts 6 co-operating with a vacuum shoe 9 there being a variable speed drive transmission (e.g. a gear-box) between means for driving the belt and a rotary valve in the vacuum line to the shoe for intermittently establishing sub-atmospheric pressure in the shoe whereby the frequency of the establishment of partial vacuum in the shoe can be varied in relation to the speed of the belt drive. Counter moving belts or vacuum shoes may act on the underside of a document held by the perforated belts 6 whereby any second document adhering to the first document is temporarily arrested.
