Abstract

591,689. Electric battery lamps. OLDHAM & SON, Ltd., and ROBERTS, A. O. May 3, 1945, No. 11295. [Class 39 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXV] An electric battery lamp adapted to be operated in response to failure of an electric lighting circuit comprises an accumulator 6, Fig. 1, a lamp bulb 7 and an electromagnetic relay 13, Fig. 2. Relay contacts 18 and 19 in the accumulator circuit close by gravity and are held open when the coil is energized from the said lighting circuit. The accumulator is contained in a compartment having an access door (not shown) of a casing 1 and is sealed off by a partition 2 from a block 9, supporting the bulb 7 in its holder 8 and a terminal block 10, resistance 11, rectifier 12 and relay 13. A cover 3 hinged' at 4 may carry a lamp glass. The apertures in the partition for terminals 27 are sealed by rubber or lead washers 28.
