590,856. Plate heat exchangers. LISTER & CO., Ltd., R. A., and MORRIS, A. J. April 23, 1945, No. 10181. Addition to 584,772. [Class 64 (iii)] In a heat exchanger as described in the parent Specification, in which a set of plates are clamped between headers, each plate having grooves on one of its faces angularly disposed to similar grooves on its opposite face and also ports connected to the grooves, such that when the plates and headers are assembled, alternate sets of angularly disposed channels are formed by the grooves, through which pass the fluid to be treated and the heat exchange medium, the plates are initially bolted, welded, brazed, vulcanized or cemented together in pairs before being assembled with their headers to form the heat exchanger.
