Abstract

A flat heat exchanger consists of a stack of separate plates laid face to face, with flow passages between each for the heat exchanging media and with sets of aligned recesses or holes in the stack for their inlet and outlet, also with seals round the periphery of the flow passages and round the recesses/holes to suitably connect recesses/holes and passages; the seals around the recesses/holes are appreciably narrower than the peripheral seal.
