Abstract

590,136. Fusible cut-outs; two-part couplings. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BARNARD, J. H., and WILSON, C. A. April 13, 1945, No. 9305. [Class 38 (i)] A withdrawable holder for a cartridge fuse 6 comprises an insulating carrier 1 having holes 2 near each end in which clamping screws 7 are held captive by washers 13. The screws pass through terminal lugs 18 on the ends of the fuse cartridge, the latter being retained on the carrier by one or more non-current-carrying spring clips 3 secured to the carrier by rivets 4 or screws. The holder may be mounted on fixed pillar terminals 19 having tapped holes 22 for the reception of the threaded ends 11 of the screws 7 whereby the lugs 18 are clamped between the outer faces of the terminals and the carrier. The heads of the screws 7 have insulating caps 10 provided with spaced channels 15 to facilitate the gripping and tightening thereof.
