Abstract

380,982. Fusible cut-outs ; wrenches. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., 28, Kingsway, London, and POOLEY, A. M., Birches Lane, Kenilworth, Warwickshire. Nov. 3, 1931, No. 30429. [Class 38 (i).] A fuse holder for an aerial fuse fitting comprises an externally threaded cap 8 with a conical or pyramidal shank 8a. The holder is adapted to carry any type of fuse but more particularly one of the cartridge type and is inserted into an overhead insulator 1 which is provided with a top contact 5 and a ring contact 7, the latter being screw threaded to receive the fuse holder and having a bell mouth 7a. The fuse holder is inserted by means of an operating rod 12 which is provided with a combined carrier and spanner piece 10, 11 in which the fuse holder is supported and rotated. The piece 10 is provided with a split ring 11 which surrounds and is clamped to the rod 12 which may be of insulating material. Alternatively the rod may be of conducting material with insulating material interposed between it and the clamp 11.
