In an assembly for interconnecting conductors, the terminals 40 of a group of conductors 42 are positioned in insulated relationship in shaped slots 34 in a dielectric wafer member 30 such that apertures in terminals 40 are coaxial with apertures 32 of the wafer member whereby pin members 22 carried by an insulating base 10 may be inserted through the wafer member 30 and through other similar members carrying terminals of other groups of conductors to electrically connect the conductors 42 with said other groups of conductors (Fig. 1, not shown). The terminals 40 are bifurcated and are sprung by insertion of the pins such that their contacting surfaces 46 firmly clamp the pins. The terminals snap into the shaped slots 34 of the wafer member. An axially movable locking bar carried by the base 10 has knobs 19, 20 at each end and may be placed in one of two positions such that grooves 16 or lands 17 register with grooves 26 in the pin members 22, thus unlocking or locking in place respectively the pin members. Fig. 3 shows another embodiment wherein the pin-carrying base 50 comprises a cover 52 and a pin holder 54 with two rows of spaced apertures 56 for pin members 58. Each pin member has a head 60 at one end with a circumferential groove (Fig. 4, not shown), the head preventing the pin from passing completely through the apertures 56. The two members 52, 54 are secured together by fasteners 68 extending through elongated apertures 70 and threaded apertures 72, the elongated apertures allowing the cover to be moved laterally to provide access to heads 60 of the pin members through apertures 74 of the cover (Fig. 5, not shown). The pins may then be removed by inserting a screwdriver blade into the grooves in the heads. The base 50 may be mounted on a bracket 78 and dust cover 80 may enclose it and wafer members 76 assembled therewith. The pin members and terminals may be fixed in their respective members and the pin members may extend in opposite directions from the base member. Again, individual pins may be inserted through a stack of wafer members.
