Abstract
590,095. Optical-projection apparatus. PRATT, A. S. April 11, 1945, No. 9042. [Class 97 (i)] In optical projection apparatus for transparencies of different sizes, an adaptor unit, related in size to the transparency to be projected, is inserted between the condenser lens system and the holder for the transparency so as to position the transparency in the converging light beam where it will receive the maximum amount of light, the adaptor also serving to mask the transparency. As shown in Fig. 2, the adaptor 11 is attached by screws to the condenser housing 4 and to the housing 6 containing the projection lens and holder for transparency such as strip film 9. The projection lens 5 is readjusted in the housing 6 to allow for the introduction of the adaptor. Bayonet or clip fixings may be provided between the adaptor and the other housings. Part or all of the system may be rotatable about the optic axis to adjust the image on the screen. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the adaptor 11 is introduced behind the transparency holder and forces the front member of the condenser 3 back against the spring 13.
