Abstract

A rear projection screen 12 comprises a lens formation 14 for refracting light projected onto the rear of the screen and displaying the refracted light as an image on the front of the screen, mask 16 provided on the screen for reducing reflection of ambient light and a diffusing layer 15 for diffusely transmitting the light projected through the screen via the openings of the mask. The diffuser may be applied to the lens formation or be on a separate sheet secured to the formation. There may be two lens formations at right angles. The diffuser increases the angle of viewing and reduces reflection of ambient light. <IMAGE>
