Abstract

A front projection screen material comprises a sheet of transparent material (1) having a mirror layer (2) on one side and, on the other side, a layer (4) which partly reflects and scatters the incident light, and also partly transmits the light through the sheet of transparent material to the mirror layer. The light thus incident on the mirror layer is reflected back to the layer 4 where it reinforces the displayed image. This screen material is particularly useful with low power projectors such as in microfilm and microfiche read-out systems. The mirror layer and/or the light scattering layer may be on separate supports and there may be a polymeric layer 3 between material 1 and layer 4. <IMAGE>
