617,337. Photographic projection-copying apparatus; distorted photographs. KURREIN, M. Nov. 20, 1945, No. 31122. [Classes 97 (i), 98 (i) and 98 (ii)] Photographic projection copying apparatus having different magnifications in two perpendicular directions comprises in combination a light source D, an adjustable plate-carrying frame B, a cylindrical lens system F<1>, F2, an adjustable diaphragm E<1>, E<2>, and a camera objective F interposed between said diaphragm and a light-sensitive photographic plate G housed in a camera and arranged to receive the projected image, said plate when developed and finished being adapted to be mounted in the frame B as the object A to be projected. Instead of a photographic transparency, the object A may be a drawing on tracing paper, or may be replaced by a screen on which the image formed by a profile projection microscope is focused. The whole apparatus may be arranged in a housing H excluding stray light and may be provided with a matt screen. J in front of the lamps D. The application to producing curves with one co-ordinate scale exaggerated is referred to.
