Abstract

590,014. Cycle forks. BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO., Ltd., PERKINS, H., and PERRIGO, A. E. April 6, 1945, No. 8502. [Class 136 (iii)] A motor-cycle fork comprises a pair of laterally spaced members 3 provided with lugs 17 adapted to receive the front wheel spindle, and eccentrically disposed so that their positions relative to the axes of the members may be adjusted to allow the wheel trail to be changed. The lugs 17 are of cruciform shape and have limbs 19, 21 of unequal size for the attachment of mudguard stays. The lugs are welded to the lower ends of the tubular members 3 which may be turned through 180 degrees in upper telescopic portions 1 so that the wheel spindle recesses 29 may be either in front of or behind the'axes of the members 3 to give a shorter or longer wheel trail according to whether a side-car is attached or not.
