Abstract

589,981. Open-tray burners. HAYTER, B., and BREESE, P. L. [trading as OIL DEVICES]. April 6, 1945, No. 8564. Convention date, April 8, 1944. [Class 75 (i)] A burner pot with a cylindrical side wall 12, Fig. 1, provided with primary air inlet apertures 13 has an offset at its open end including a cylindrical end portion 31 connected with the burner pot by an intermediate portion 30, these portions being provided with secondary air inlet apertures 32, 33. The axes of the apertures 32, 33 may be perpendicular or inclined to the portions 31, 30 and the axes of corresponding apertures in the two portions may converge near the inner wall of the burner pot. The intermediate portion 30 may be perpendicular to the side wall 12 or it may be downwardly inclined, as shown in Fig. 3. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also comprises a burner pot with a cylindrical wall having two rows of converging secondary air inlets at its upper end. This subject matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
