Abstract

587,956. Packages. ROSE, A. G., and ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Oct. 26, 1944, No. 20849. [Class 94 (i)] In a package for an article such as a batch of cigarettes, of the type wherein a pair of the edges of an inner wrapper of heat-sealing material are secured together to form a tube with a longitudinal seam 11 upstanding from the package, the seam being then folded on to the article, and the ends pressed on to the ends of the article to form seams 13 and triangular tabs 12 which are then folded on to the ends of the package, the whole is totally enclosed in a further casing or casings, e.g., a carton 17 of the slide and shell type. A strip 14 may be included within the inner wrapper to facilitate opening. According to the Provisional Specification, a wrapper of paper &c. may replace the carton, and slits may be provided in the end seam to form a tab, or a cutting element may be incorporated in the outer casing.
