[Class 122 (i)] Coolant for a piston-head j flows through the passage b<1> in the connecting rod a, around the small end bush d through ports e in the end of the connecting rod to a cooling space beneath the crown and thence through a return passage b<2> back to the big end crank chamber. A member forming a chamber i with mid-partition i<1> is loaded by springs i<2> to bear upon the end of the connecting rod and telescopes into a member k fixed under the piston crown j. Ports k<1> and passage m<1> direct the flow of heated oil back to the passage b<2>.
