Abstract

584,498. Clip brackets. NEWTON, E. P. (Packless Metal Products Corporation). April 19, 1944, .No. 7258. [Class 52 (v)] [Also in Group XXXII] A flexible securing device for cables &c. made from a single length of wire comprises a cylinder 10 in which the wire is wound in a close helix and a coneshaped open - coiled spring 13 coaxial and integral with the cylinder 10, the wire 14 extending from the larger end of the spring being bent at 16, 18, 20 to form a clip adapted to be sprung around an elongated member. The head 31 of the screw 30 engages the smaller coils of the spring and acts as a locking device. In a modification the wire 14 is wound spirally round the member to be supported or has a clamp permanently attached to it. The rigidity of the coils may be increased by applying a coating of metal by brazing &c.
