Abstract

573,698. Band clips. JAMIE, R. C. S., and HUNT & TURNER, Ltd. Aug. 17, 1943, No. 13398. [Class 44] In a band clip for hose-pipe connections wherein loop members 5-8 at the ends of the band or bands are engaged by transverse tubes or spindles 10, 11, one of the members having a plain hole and the other a threaded hole to receive a tightening screw 13, the head 18 of the screw is spaced from the transverse member by a conical distance-piece 15, and the other end of the screw is engaged by a conical lock-nut 15<1>. As shown, the clip comprises two bands 1, 2. The specification also describes a clip having a single band each end of which is formed to provide a pair of tongues bent into loop form to engage the end-portions of the transverse member, the application to a four band clip as described in Specification 573,696, in which bridge-pieces are provided to engage the transverse members, the tightening screw being applied to the bridge-pieces, and the application to a clip in which each band comprises two parts end to end and connected at their ends by two screws arranged at opposite ends of a diameter of the complete clip.
