Abstract

600,061. Coiling glass tubes. THORNTON, A. A. (Amglo Corporation). March 15, 1944, No. 4834. [Class 56] [Also in Group XL (a)] Hollow glass tubing is bent into helical form by inserting one end 45, Fig. 8, of a straight glass tube into a sleeve 46, bending it over so that it passes through a rounded slot 47 in the sleeve 46 and then winding the glass tubing around the sleeve 46. The end 45 of the helical tubing is then cut off and the tubing sealed at one end to a straight glass tube mounted on the stem of a gaseous discharge tube so as to encircle the straight glass tube, Fig. 6 (not shown).
