Abstract

583,254. Snap fasteners. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION. Oct. 2, 1944, No. 18785. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1943. [Class 44] The stud and socket members of a snap fastener are secured to pieces of flexible material 3 by attaching members 20 comprising prongs 21 which penetrate the material and are turned over the rim portions 12, 16 of the fastener members. The attaching member may comprise a disc 23 slitted radially as at 24 to form prongs 21 which are bent up at right angles thereto, leaving a spider-like blank which acts as a backing for the material. The prongs may be cut to the centre of the disc 23 and the inner portions of the radia. members 28 removed to form a central opening. The attaching member may alternatively be in the form of an imperforate disc having the prongs protruding from the periphery thereof.
