Abstract
581,527. Pistons. SPECIALLOID, Ltd., and CANN, A. A. Aug. 23, 1944, No. 16090. [Class 122 (i)] In a light metal or light metal alloy piston having adjacent its head a flanged annular insert to receive the piston ring or rings as described in Specification 557,070, the insert 1 is formed with one flange 2 only and both faces 4, 6 of the flange incline inwardly from the body of the insert towards its axis. The inner periphery 3 of the insert may be of concave form merging into the inclined inner face of the flange.
