Abstract
581,374. Heat-exchangers. SVENSKA CELLULOSA AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 11, 1944, No. 528. Convention date, June 15, 1943. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 12, 1944.] [Class 64 (iii)] A heat-exchanger element for location within an enclosing casing, not shown, and through and around which respectively two liquids, &c., circulate, is constituted by a number of aligned sections, each comprising a hollow core portion 41 having a transverse partition 43, providing two compartments 44, 45, and formed internally with a hollow helical fin or the like 42 extending through a single convolution, the two ends 48, 49 of the passage in the latter opening, the one 48 into into the compartment 44 and the other 49 into the compartment 45. The several sections are connected in series, with the compartments 44, 45 of one section in direct communication respectively with the compartments 45, 44 of adjacent sections, and are held together in a fluid-tight manner by an axial bolt extending through an aperture 46 in each partition 43, one end of the element being connected to a liquid supply pipe or inlet header and the other end to an outlet pipe or header.
