Abstract

581,122. Heavy-current switches. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP FABRIEK VAN ELECTRISCHE APPARATEN VOORHEEN, F. HAZEMEIJER & CO., and ROOK, H. De. Sept. 10, 1941, No. 11604. [Class 38 (v)] A switch suitable for controlling a tee-off connection of a transformer to a sectionalized ring main, and adapted to break a load-current, comprises three fixed contacts 17, two of which are connected to the sides of the ring main whereas the other is the tee-ing contact, and a movable contact comprising four arms 12 on a shaft 10. In the position shown the main is complete and the transformer isolated, but by rotating through 60‹ in either direction, all three contacts 17 are interconnected and a further rotation of 60‹ disconnects one side of the main, leaving the transformer connected to the other side. The isolated contact 17 can be earthed by a contact 19 on a rotatable shaft 20, that of the upper contact 19 not being shown in the Fig. The three shafts 20 and shaft 10 carry interlocking discs with cut-away parts, Fig. 2 (not shown), the arrangement being that only the shaft 20 against the cut-away part of the disc of shaft 10 can be rotated to earth the associated circuit, and in this position the shaft 10 is locked. The shaft 10 carries the contacts of the other poles or phases behind the one shown, and the casing may carry a circuit-indicating plan. The rotor'may alternatively have an arcuate contact of 180‹ extent.
