Abstract

The homopolar generator, or acylic d.c. machine comprises several rotatable electrically conducting, disc-shaped or drum-shaped machine parts arranged around one axis of rotation, these rotary parts being associated with fixed machine parts. The rotatable machine parts are arranged as a series circuit by means of a contact liquid located in the annular contact zones between the machine parts that move relative to one another. the contact liquid (26) is taken along a single path in channels, with the exception of the contact zones, in a direction of increasing or decreasing electric potential. The channels are provided in the rotatable machine parts and in the fixed machine parts.
