Abstract

1334436 Perforating plastic film WELDOTRON CORP 27 May 1971 [1 June 1970] 17587/71 Heading B5A A device for perforating plastic film comprises electrically conductive rotary discs 18 insulated from each other and supporting circumferentially spaced electrically heated film perforating members 10 electrically connected to the discs which are connected to a variable voltage source 30 by stationary brushes 32. The assembly 10, 18 is secured to a shaft 22 to which rollers 38 are attached, and the film is fed between the rollers and a driven roller 36, grooved at 42, whereby the film speed is the same as the surface speed of the members 10. Each of the latter may have two perforating portions; a number of such disc pairs may be located on the shaft and connected in parallel to provide zones of perforations. The perforative part of each member may be disposed parallel to the planes of the discs.
