[Class 80 (i)] A vehicle steering mechanism comprises a worm b, Figs. 1, 2, formed on the steering spindle and engaging a segmental worm-wheel f freely mounted on a pin g carried by a rocker arm d secured to a shaft e connected with the road wheels, the worm-wheel f having teeth h which engage a fixed pinion i freely mounted on the shaft e. In action, rotation of the spindle results in angular movement of the worm-wheel segment and by reason of the teeth h and the pinion i corresponding movement of the rocker arm. In a modification, the pinion i and the teeth h on the worm-wheel f are dispensed with, and an extension on the pin, carries an arm m, Fig. 4, having a projection n which co-acts with a vertical slot o in the housing.
