Abstract

580,630. Mixing-machines. MILLARS' MACHINERY CO., Ltd., and LEECH, L. A. July 13, 1944, No. 13431. [Class 86] In a mixing machine of the tilting drum type the drum 2, Fig. 1, is supported for rotation in a circular yoke 1 incorporating an annular track between flanges 4, 17, Fig. 3, with which circumferentially spaced rollers 15 carried by the drum cooperate. The drum is rotated by means of a driving shaft 9 and a pinion 12 which is enclosed within the yoke 1 and engages with the teeth 11 of a circular flange 10 on the drum. The outer edge of the flange 10 abuts against a number of thrust rollers, not shown, mounted in the wall 3 of the yoke 1. Tilting of the drum about trunnion bearings 7, 8 is effected by a handwheel 22 through the engagement of a pinion 19 with an internally toothed wheel 18 mounted on a trunnion 6.
