580,493. Preventing condensation on windows. BARR & STROUD, Ltd., and STRANG, J. M. Feb. 4, 1944, No. 2137. [Class 20 (iii)] A device for re moving condensec water vapour fron the window C of a submarine periscope by air draught ii characterized in hav ing a non - returr valve 5 in the air de livery pipe, near to the window. The valve may be of the spring - pressed bal type, or as. shown ir Figs. 11 and 13, one consisting of a flexible member 27 with a horse-shoe shaped flap 28 cover ing posts 29 equal ir area to the section o: the compressed air delivery tube. A weak closing spring 30 may be provided -as shown in Fig. 11. The air is fed through a pipe 2 within the periscope and through a lower non-return valve 4 to an outside flattened tube 3 leading to the delivery orifice 7.
