Abstract

580,373. Shelters. GLOVER, C. W. March 13. 1944, No. 4663. [Class 20 (i)] A bus shelter comprises pairs of concrete frame ribs 1, 2 anchored to the ground, opposite ribs being joined by a tiebolt 3, side railings 6 passing through the ribs and precast concrete slabs 7 beneath the railings. More than one railing may be provided on each side and the space between the uppermost side railing. and the roof is left open. Concrete purlins 8 support a corrugated asbestos cement roof 4 and gutters 5. Columns 9 support a central hand-rail 19. The ribs are anchored to the ground by embedding them in holes in the ground with concrete or by angle cleats bolted to the ribs and to the pavement. Fig. 3 shows a shelter having one series of frame ribs.
