[Class 135] [Also in Group XXVI] A leak-off valve 104 for preventing stalling of an axial flow compressor when running at low speeds is controlled automatically and is completely closed when the ratio of the pressures at two spaced points, in the compressor reaches a certain value. A bellows device 109 is subjected externally to the pressure of an early stage in the compressor and a spring-pressed piston 111 to that of a late stage. Motion of the piston 111 is transmitted to a lever 115 of a servomotor 121 operating the leak-off valve, 104 and the point of application of this motion to the lever 115 is controlled by the bellowsdevice which determines the angular position of the connecting rod 116.
