Abstract
579,407. Valve amplifying circuits. B.P.L. (INSTRUMENTS), Ltd., and DIGBY, B. April 25, 1944, No. 7681. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] In a circuit for amplifying a specific audio frequency, e.g. for use in an audio frequency bridge or in voice frequency telegraph circuits, positive feed back is used to increase the selectivity. An amplifier is described having two resistance capacity coupled tuned-anode stages, the first of which incorporates a pentode, feed back being taken from the anode of the second stage to the suppressor grid of the first stage, through a blocking condenser and a suitable potentiometer. The screen grid prevents undesirable interaction between the input circuit and the feed-back circuit. The arrangement may be adjusted to be just below the state of self-oscillation. This type of amplifier, it is stated, can also be used for high frequencies.
