Abstract
579,388. Fuze compositions. ZENFTMAN, H., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Oct. 6, 1943, No. 16358. [Classes 9 (i) and 9 (ii)] Fuze compositions that will burn regularly at varying altitudes comprise the three ingredients potassium nitrate (50-15 per cent), red lead (30-60 per cent) and silicon (10-40 per cent). The mixture may be used in pulverulent form, or as corned granules, or in rod form with binding agents. In rod or extruded-core form, it may have a soft metal wire (e.g. copper) embedded in it to increase the burning speed.
