Abstract
1,225,885. Explosive compositions. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 31 Oct., 1969 [2 Nov., 1968], No. 53609/69. Heading C1D. [Also in Division F3] An ignition and/or initiating composition comprises 80-30% by weight of an inorganic oxidant capable of readily giving off oxygen when heated and 20-70% by weight of a cerium-magnesium alloy in which the ratio of cerium to magnesium is from 4.0:6.0 to 8.5 : 1.5. The inorganic oxidant may be CuO, PbO 2 , MnO 2 , ammonium dichromate, or potassium permanganate. The composition may be pressed on to nitropenta or nitromannite and will cause detonation within 20-160 milliseconds. -
