Abstract

1406002 Gas-generating compositions SOC NATIONALE DES POUDRES ET EXPLOSIFS 26 Sept 1973 [17 Oct 1972] 45165/73 Heading C1D A gas-generating composition for inflating safety devices in vehicles comprises an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal azide, an alkali metal perchlorate or bichromate, and one of the following nitrogen compounds:-aminotetrazole, aminotetrazole hydrate, azodicarbonamide, and azotetrazole. Silica may also be included to react with solid combustion residues to form harmless silicates. The composition may be made into pellets using as a binder aluminium stearate, polytetrafluoroethylene, or potassium bromide.
