[Also in Division C3] A propellant composition is prepared by dissolving a butadiene-styrene block copolymer in a sublimable solvent such as benzene, mixing an oxidant therewith such as ammonium perchlorate, freezing the mixture, for example by pouring into a bath of liquid nitrogen and subliming the solvent. The composition may then be compacted to remove voids. Other constituents referred to are ammonium nitrate, metal nitrates, Al, Be, or Li, or their hydrides, and calcium oxalate as a burning depressant.
