Abstract
PURPOSE: A non-toxic igniting agent for a solid fuel easily ignitable with one match, and capable of burning quickly and gradually with emission of little white smoke, which is obtd. by the incorporation of calcium nitrate as an oxidizing agent in an igniting agent.
CONSTITUTION: Calcium nitrate is incorporated as an oxidizing agent in an igniting agent for a solid fuel. A low decomposition temp. is necessary for an auxiliary oxidizing agent used for enhancing ignition performance of an igniting agent in order to improve the ignitability. At too low a temp, however, there is a fear of spontaneous ignition or explosion, so that a somewhat high temp. is necessary. A metal salt selected from a nitrate, permanganate, bichromate, chlorate and perchlorate is pref. used as the auxiliary oxidizing agent. It is pref. to incorporate 10W40wt% calcium nitrate in the igniting agent for a solid fuel.
