579,268. Coke-oven bracings. SIMONCARVES, Ltd., and MACGREGOR, A. Nov. 9, 1944, No. 22079. [Class 51 (ii)] A buckstay for coke ovens is formed in two separate sections a, b each controlled by springs d, g and p, s at its upper and .lower ends, the dividing line being located at approximately the level of the operating platform e running along the coke side of the battery. This platform is supported at intervals by a girder structure j, k, m of steel or reinforced concrete. Each buckstay section is formed of two lengths of channel section metal, those of the lower portion b being in contact while those of the upper portion a diverge upwardly and are fitted at their upper ends with separate springs d.
